Concern

Marks left by acne or irritation.

The breakout is gone, the mark is not. Why post inflammatory marks linger on reactive skin, why the usual fixes irritate them further, and what to do instead.

Recognition

Does this sound like your skin?

The spot healed, the mark stayed

Brown or purple, flat, where a breakout or a scratch used to be.

Your skin reacts to almost everything

Acids sting, new products redden, and every irritation leaves a trace.

Marks take months to fade

And new ones arrive before the old ones are gone.

Deeper skin, darker marks

The deeper the skin tone, the longer and darker the marks tend to last.

If three of these are true, the rest of this page is written for you.

Mechanism

What is happening in the skin

Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is the skin's memory of an inflammation. Every breakout or irritation sends a local alarm, and melanocytes answer by making extra pigment exactly there. On reactive skin the alarm goes off more often, and anything harsh used to fade the marks can set it off again.

1 · Inflammation

A breakout, a scratch or an irritation inflames the skin.

2 · Local alarm

Melanocytes nearby answer with a burst of pigment.

3 · Deposit

The pigment stays where the inflammation was, long after it has calmed.

Why nothing held

Why the usual fixes backfire

Strong exfoliating acids

They irritate reactive skin, and irritation is what made the marks in the first place.

Spot treatments on each mark

They chase marks one by one and leave the reactivity behind them untouched.

Waiting for them to fade

It can take months, and new marks keep arriving in the meantime.

Skipping sun protection

UV darkens fresh marks and makes them last longer.

Focus product

Where to start: Cyspera Sensitive

CYSPERA SENSITIVE™

Correction · for reactive skin

CYSPERA SENSITIVE™

€180,00

Sensitive brings the cysteamine correction step to skin that does not tolerate strong actives. Same logic as Intensive, tuned for tolerance first.

It is applied, left on for a short contact time, then rinsed, so the skin gets the correction without carrying an active all day.

The honest limit: Sensitive corrects marks that are already there. New breakouts still need their own care, and daily sun protection is part of the routine.

Questions

What people ask before starting

Can I use it if I still have breakouts?

Yes, on the marks and the surrounding skin, not on open or inflamed spots. Keep your acne care in place and apply it at a different moment of the day.

How long before the marks fade?

Marks fade as the skin renews, so expect weeks, not days. Photograph the same area in the same light every two weeks to judge it fairly.

Does it sting?

Sensitive is built for reactive skin. A light tingling is possible at first. Burning is not: rinse, and start again with a shorter contact time.

Is it safe on deeper skin tones?

Cyspera is formulated for all skin tones. Deeper skin is more prone to marks left by irritation, so build the contact time slowly and keep other actives out of the same evening.

What happens if I stop?

If you stop when it looks better, pigmentation often returns, because the process behind it is still switched on. After the correction phase, the routine moves to maintenance, with daily sun protection. That step is what keeps the result.

Can I use it while pregnant?

Speak to a professional before starting any active correction while pregnant or breastfeeding. Find a provider near you.

Not sure this is your concern?

Nine questions, two minutes, and you leave with your products in the order to use them.
